"Sun flower" (smaller) corkscrew by Carl Martinson

"Sunflower" corkscrew by Carl Martinson.
Intarsia.
Part of the series Flowers, Cars and Cigarettes. All pieces are one-offs.

The motifs for the corkscrews come from Carl's intarsia works, but here they have a chance to live their own lives. The veneers are of curly birch, walnut root, elm root, elm, and bird's-eye maple, all glued to solid walnut and curly birch.

This corkscrew is part of the group show OPEN.
